The OK Prostate Chip is a small device that is placed in the urethra (the urine passage) so that it acts on the prostate; the maker sells it in several shapes, sizes and materials. Stiffer custom cables carried an added charge after the first build

An entry published in October 2019 records a customer's request for stiffer cable on a vibrating chip. The finished example had 20cm of stiffer cable near the chip, followed by the standard cable.

Mr. Okada waived the extra charge for this first example. He announced ¥1,000 (about $6 at ¥156 = $1, rate as of 2026-09-04) excluding tax for later requests because the additional connection took more work. The diary does not record the customer's assessment of the finished cable. Mr. Okada offered to consider customer-supplied cable provided it was not excessively large.

R-1 controller compatibility depended on its original recognition hardware

An entry published in November 2019 records a request to connect a vibrating chip to the RENDS R-1 controller. The corrected entry put the proposed compatible product launch on hold because R-1 required its dedicated cable.

Later that month, Mr. Okada reported that communication with an electronic recognition chip was necessary; a direct controller connection did not work. His successful prototype retained that recognition hardware, with a USB socket beyond it and a USB plug on the vibrating chip.

He reported 4 hours of continuous testing without problems, then accepted the customer's order. His proposed connection service required the recognition cable as well as the controller.

Time Rotor USB conversion succeeded after Mr. Okada inspected the device

An entry published in December 2019 records a customer's request to connect an existing Time Rotor to a vibrating chip. Mr. Okada initially withheld a decision because he had never examined the device.

Very thin custom cables required a separate thread for strength

An entry published in June 2020 records a customer's request for very fine supplied wires on several vibrating chips. Mr. Okada thought the wire resembled, or was thinner than, his 0.6mm cable.

He considered its conductors suitable for soldering, but expected repeated sharp bending to cause breakage. Testing of the cable covering's bond with epoxy was still pending. The diary does not record whether these custom builds were delivered. His acceptance required nylon thread to carry 100% of the retrieval load because he considered the cable too fragile.

Shape Mate custom connections passed only a basic current check

An entry published in May 2021 describes a request for a two-pole electrode chip compatible with Shape Mate equipment. Mr. Okada could not modify the unfamiliar plug itself, but offered to examine its attached cable for a possible connection.

The supplied cable contained fiber-like strands without a metal core and could not be soldered to his wiring. He instead reported a crimp connection (a cable joint used instead of soldering). His meter check established only that current passed; he could not test operation with the customer's equipment. Mr. Okada urged caution and gave no operating guarantee.

Stainless-steel controller connections gained a plug option with different waterproofing

An entry published in July 2025 describes a customer whose equipment could not accept the usual snap connectors (button-shaped electrical connections). The customer wanted a plug on a two-pole stainless-steel electrode chip.

OK Lab initially said a straightforward substitution would compromise the waterproof arrangement around the twisted cable. The resulting specification included a sealed transition at the tube's end to red-and-black parallel cable (two wires joined side by side). The plug was on that outer cable, and the entry announced that this custom version could now be made. OK Lab's reply advised that the extra work would increase the charge, without stating an amount.

Custom controller connections did not include modifying the treatment device

In an entry published in December 2018, Mr. Okada discussed connections between electrode chips and external electrical treatment equipment. He said OK Lab would not modify terminals on the treatment device itself.

He left responsibility for those alterations with the customer and said he could not judge compatibility with the equipment. He also declined requests from people without experience of that equipment. His warning was that electrical exposure could be life-threatening and that compatibility and safety were beyond what he could establish.
