What happens: chip migration into the bladder

The OK Prostate Chip is a small urethral device intended to act on the prostate from inside the urine passage. Bladder migration means the chip moves farther inward into the bladder, a problem customers describe in the diary. In an entry published in October 2017, Mr. Okada described a silicone prototype approximately 13cm long, connected to a stocking ring. He said the connection reduced accidental loss and offered some control over excessive inward travel. In a June 2018 entry, a customer requesting a custom chip with a stopper also reported painful snagging with a long chip. They reported occasional bleeding that prevented repeated insertion and removal. Mr. Okada suspected thicker resin coatings contributed, but had no reliable solution.

A longer chip did not necessarily solve complete bladder migration

In an October 2019 entry, a customer using ceramic and glass chips asked why their position changed despite stoppers. Mr. Okada distinguished losing that position from the entire chip entering the bladder. Extra length would not prevent the latter, he said.

The diary does not record whether positioning improved. Mr. Okada suggested an external stopper might be the only remaining measure if the internal stopper failed.

A cable used for bladder migration control developed exposed wire

In a July 2022 entry, a customer reported pain and protruding wire on a 4-wire cable, then asked about replacement. Mr. Okada suspected repeated force against a blocked tip could cause extreme buckling and exposed wire. He warned that repeated bending and straightening could eventually break it.

He offered cable replacement rather than wire repair; vibrating versions also required motor replacement. The diary does not record whether replacement occurred. Mr. Okada cautioned against force when the body resisted the device.

Mr. Okada reported no bladder migration with his external holding plate

In a May 2023 entry, Mr. Okada reported testing an S-shaped urethral sound (a curved shaft carrying the chip) with an external holding plate. He described 3 days of stable placement, without bladder migration or expulsion during urination.

He nevertheless reported small movements within the prostate area as erections developed and subsided. Mr. Okada considered it unnecessary for brief use when movement was not a concern.

Shape-memory bladder migration accessories carried separate proposed prices in April 2024

In an April 2024 entry, the proposed shape-memory wire (wire that recovers its preset curve) connection and support chip cost ¥3,000, (about $19 at ¥156 = $1, rate as of 2026-09-04) tax excluded. A tube cover added ¥1,000 (about $6 at ¥156 = $1, rate as of 2026-09-04), tax excluded. A screw helper (screw-shaped support) cost ¥3,000 (about $19 at ¥156 = $1, rate as of 2026-09-04) and a mesh stopper (mesh barrier) ¥2,000 (about $13 at ¥156 = $1, rate as of 2026-09-04), both tax excluded. These were proposed additions to the ordinary chip price.

The connection also extended the main chip by approximately 5-7mm. Mr. Okada advised stopping use if the outer resin at the connection became damaged.

Some bladder migration attachments broke, prompting refunds instead of repairs

The February 2025 entry recorded wire failures reported by 2 customers. One sought repairs after a 90-degree locking attachment and bladder-loop connections broke. Staff said the cause remained unknown and offered refunds for recently supplied items.

The customer returned an item and again requested repair or changes. Staff maintained the refund offer for 2 items; completion is not recorded. Mr. Okada suggested waiting for wire with a preset curve before requesting another build.

A sideways stopper still caused painful bladder migration concerns in August 2026

In an August 2026 entry, a customer said muscle movements drew the chip toward the bladder. They described the stopper crossing the sphincter sideways, causing pain. They requested a wire-shaped device and an adjustable locking attachment on a stainless-steel chip.

The maker's answer to chip migration into the bladder

Early bladder migration advice depended on both spacing and stopper position

In a July 2018 entry, Mr. Okada's explanation assumed at least 6mm, preferably 10mm or more, between the main chip and stopper. He described a stopper free within the bulbar urethra (the section before the sphincter) as turning across the direction of pull. A partly trapped stopper, he said, could instead travel inward lengthwise. Mr. Okada's prevention advice depended on that spacing and stopper position; he said migration was then rare.

The maker's manual acknowledged bladder migration could require hospital care

In a July 2021 entry, Mr. Okada's draft manual said a sphincter stopper or screw helper was needed when a chip reached the bladder. It also addressed chips that could not be removed, including a July 31 addition. It discussed hospital care involving a bladder endoscope (an instrument for seeing inside the bladder). A bladder-loop frame was proposed for worries about complete bladder migration

In a March 2025 entry, Mr. Okada described a threadless chipless frame (a looped wire device without a separate main chip). Its published example price was ¥9,000, (about $58 at ¥156 = $1, rate as of 2026-09-04) tax excluded. The entry listed ¥6,000 (about $38 at ¥156 = $1, rate as of 2026-09-04) for the frame, ¥4,000 (about $26 at ¥156 = $1, rate as of 2026-09-04) for its terminal loop, and a ¥1,000 (about $6 at ¥156 = $1, rate as of 2026-09-04) deduction for omitting nylon thread.

For migration concerns, he described a bladder-loop version approaching 20cm overall. He claimed the bladder would stop further travel, making complete migration physically impossible. Mr. Okada suggested that version for people worried about the whole device moving beyond reach.
