What happens: IC controller replacement
The OK Prostate Chip is a small device placed in the urethra so that it acts on the prostate. A cheaper IC controller source delivered broken battery covers
In an entry published in May 2019, Mr. Okada described switching suppliers after the previous product rose by about ¥500 (about $3 at ¥156 = $1, rate as of 2026-09-04). On May 22, he opened 3 controllers, all with broken battery-cover parts. The covers would not hold properly with batteries inside, making the entire first shipment from his second-choice supplier defective.
The seller acknowledged a defective batch caused by damage to its production mold. It promised replacement covers after repairs, but the diary does not record whether those replacements arrived. Mr. Okada also urged the seller to check its remaining stock.

Matching IC controller listing photos concealed different hardware and functions
In an entry published in January 2020, Mr. Okada described buying apparently identical USB controllers from two sellers. Both listings used the same photograph, but the delivered units differed in appearance and function. Neither included instructions, which had made him hesitant to explain their operation.
He also reported that computer sleep could interrupt charging, so a stopped charging light did not necessarily mean a full battery. His explanation applied only to the USB rechargeable controller he was supplying at that time.

A 6mm motor failed with incompatible IC controller types
In an entry published in January 2022, Mr. Okada reported a specified operating range of 2.7V–3.3V for the 6mm motor. At about 5V, it became hot enough to burn within 20 seconds in his tests. The motor stopped at 2.5V or below and broke when the supply rose again.
Both a Bluetooth-compatible controller and an R-1 controller (used in earlier custom builds) destroyed motors after a single application of power. Standard IC controller tests had revealed no problems during extended operation or battery exhaustion. Mr. Okada restricted this motor to OK Lab's standard IC controller or its USB rechargeable IC controller.
