He reported that the resin version did not reach its intended position at the prostate. He suspected that compression made the urethral route less slippery than usual.

An entry published in June 2023 introduced prices for a combined rigid-and-soft urethral sound. It described an upward bend of approximately 90 degrees, a few centimeters before the sphincter. Its proposed response focused on support from the perineum to guide direction.
